Trout Pond Revitalization

The Jim Nelson Memorial Trout Pond is a stocked pond open to the public and is managed by the Devon Fish & Game Club. Over the years, the site has deteriorated somewhat and the club has committed to the goal of restoring its original lustre.

In 2018, the club replaced the picnic tables with a generous donation of time from one of our members in building the new tables.

In 2021, the Club secured funding through grant applications from the Co-op Community Spaces Program, as well as through a partnership with Zone 4 of the Alberta Fish & Game Association to replace the aging dock at the Trout Pond. The dock was replaced June 2021.

In 2023, the Club was awarded the Neville Lindsay Memorial Award by the Alberta Fish and Game Association in recognition for the best fisheries project.
